Food is love

Food is Love. People and chefs specifically have said it probably since the beginning of time. It's trade marked in the USA, but the restaurant i'm in now is in Canada. So up here Food can be love for everyone, not just the guy who trade marked it. To me, food is love, means creating a dish for a Saturday event in the farmers market stall on Wednesday. That is exactly what happened yesterday at the Pemberton Farmers' Market. Tomato and roasted beet salad in a ginger tamari dressing on a lemon cucumber medallion finished off with toasted sesame seeds or possibly an organic carrot confetti. Everything was purchased from two local organic farms, now that is Love. Hopefully it works out well. Preparing food for 500 people in a condo kitchen should be interesting. Even more hilarious will be when i roll up to the event in a taxi cab if i can't find a ride.
I am borrowing a bike until i secure my own, and yesterday was the first day on a bike in a long time. The couple mile ride up to where i am staying took a half hour last night, and 10 minutes this morning to get back to work. the ride twists and turns straight up the mountain. I should be in shape in no time. All i'm saying is thank goodness for gears. I thought i was single speed for life until i met this hill.

Finally there was another facial hair trim this morning. I haven't decided if i a going to continue the civil war chops looks or just grow a winter beard.
