the great one

mt mckinley y'all...or denali it's the same thing. what's awesome is we actually got to see the whole thing. often times this elusive mountain is shrouded in clouds and only gives you a glimpse of it's enormity, but rarely exposes it whole self. the tallest mountain in north america. it is amazing. we(brit and i) saw moose, grizzly bear, coyotes, caribou, and dall sheep. it was rainy, but it was awesome.
this is why you should firstly keep a clean camp, and secondly not leave your mess unattended. these fearless squirrels will eat your food.
the folks next to us didn't get that we were in bear country, and had food all over the place. which is only a good idea if you want to get malled by a bear. i don't. but it would probably look something like this:
that bear was already dead, but this mama bear and her cub were alive and well scoping out a known fox den. hopefully those fox cubs are okay. if not that some circle of life type junk....
enjoying my bean burrito. pure satisfaction.
Brit being ever vigilant and always prepared w/ the bear spray.
some crazy looking mushrooms....
brit and i by riley creek, which was were our camp ground was.
more pictures for seward and the tour of the kenai fjords natioanl park to come.
