Folkin' Amazing

I went to George Wein's Newport Folk Festival. The festival was celebrating its 50th year.

Langhorne Slim

Billy Bragg

Ben Kweller

Avett Brothers
Tom Morello the Night Watchman

Pete Seeger and his grandson Tao
I also saw Iron and Wine, The Decemberist, Tom Morello, Gillian Welch and bunch of other folks.

I'm just saying that folk music
plus falafels

plus dell's frozen lemonade equals a great day. Don't worry i poured a sip of dell's out for my Rhodes Island homies(i got you D.O.)
I wish i had more pictures, but my batteries were starting to go about half way through the day, so i had to decide what was picture worthy. Everytime i go to a show and see/hear live music i remember how much i love it. There were parts of the day that were down right spiritual. I mean i really had a moment or something. I should probably go to more shows, but it always seems like such a hassle, even though i am never disappointed when i do actually motivate to go.

I also spent two days with my folks who are pretty great. A day a the beach, and a day kayaking. All and all it was a great little mini vacation. I don't know all the deets yet, but it looks like i'll be shipping out in a couple of weeks for Whistler, BC. I am definitely grateful for the time i have had with family and friends on the east coast. I am also starting to get excited about seeing some new places.
