train traveling...

i kinda forget how huge this country. when i fly its like teleporting. i get on a plane. fall asleep. and then magically at my destination. across the whole country in mere hours. on a train for three days you really get to see how vast, open and wild a lot of the country still is. i got to see the colorado river, the rockies, coyotes, fox, elk, deer, bald eagles, farms, horses, llamas, and cows. iwent thru a six mile long tunnel. i meet a lot of people. riding the train seems to be a very social form of travel... i meet polical activist/ communtiy organizers, pastors, missionaries, homeless kids looking for a new start with relatives, travellers, peace corp volunteers, a few for real crazy people, and many more. during my layover in dc i went on a mini tour, ate chinese food, and went to a muesem. there are lots of preparations going on in that town for the new prez. many chairs and bleachers being set up for all the spectators. all and all it was a really great trip. i enjoyed my time, and i saw a lot of country. my little bro got me a sweet new camera for x-mas(thanks stephen), but i am having trouble downloading the photos from the trip. pictures will come as soon as i figure it out.
