flying fun times

it's wednesday, and the airlines claim that my bags should be arriving today. after a couple of days of delays and rerouting, i actually believed that my bags were going to arrive with me. the whole time standing at the baggage carousel i patiently waited. i kept telling myself the next bag would be mine. but that's not exactly what happened.
after delays in hartford due to weather and engine trouble i got to spent the night at the cincinnati airport holiday inn. it was pretty sweet; a free night at the hotel, a complimentary XL t-shirt and toiletries, and even seven whole dollars to spend on food. i'm not going to lie the food voucher didn't go very far, but how much isthere to eat for a vegan stuck in the airport in the nati. not so much. i opted for the smoothie king. a half way decent smoothie, but by no means fit for royalty. luckliy, my flight schedule got all rearranged , and i was now flying to chicago before making it to my ultimate destination salt lake city. i say luckily because not only would that make my trip longer, but i was flying right into a storm, therefore increasing the chances of missing another connecting flight. which is exactly what happened, but my man phil from delta airlines hooked me up with a just in case, backup flight on american airlines. it was a good thing, because by the time we actually left cincinnati, my flight to slc was already leaving chicago.
i did finally make it, and it wasn't to terrible of a day. i made a bunch of single serving friends. conversation definitely helped pass the time. i am amazed by what people will tell complete strangers, but it makes sense because if you are never going to see a person again you can unload some heavy stuff, without having to worry about judgment and fear of being constantly judged by the listener. some of my most favorite people are the ones who get psychotic and start wile out like they are the only one stuck in the airport. talking about how they will never fly (insert airline here.) like the weather wouldn't have delayed you if you flew on another airline. just relax. you'll get there when you get there. kinda like life. it's all gonna work out, even if you get rerouted to a bunch of unexpected cities, even if you get delayed going to your final destination, or you arrive without your stuff. it all about the journey, and you will eventually show up where your supposed to be. the timing just has to be right. and what you think is the right time, and what the universe thinks is the right time might be different. so just relax.
