cucchie's kombucha

so, it's kombucha time. or as some of peoples like to lovingly refer to it as slug juice. or maybe they will talk about how i am drinking "clots" but i don't really care because i like the stuff, and i like to make it too. my "scoby" or symbiotic colony of bacteria and yeast(pictured below) came in the mail yesterday, so i got all my supplies together today to start the process.i brewed a nice strong gallon of chai tea with lots of sugar which i will add the culture to once it gets down to room temperature.
then i wait. i let the culture do its thing. then i have kombucha in about a week or so. the drink dates back to the qin dynasty(250 bc) and was know as the immoratal health elixer. it aids in digestion, and helps replenish the good bacteria in your digestive tract.
drink kombucha, it's good for you.
